For more than 35 years, Merri-bek Toy Library has helped local families borrow, play and share, keeping great toys in circulation and out of landfill. That legacy belongs to everyone who has volunteered, borrowed, donated or cheered us on along the way. Now we'd love you to be part of what comes next.
We're run by volunteers, and we need more of them
Merri-bek Toy Library is run entirely by volunteer members. Our Committee of Management has some vacancies, and we'd love to hear from you if any of these appeal:
President
Vice President
Secretary
Grants Coordinator
Fundraising / Events Coordinator
Community Engagement Coordinator
Policy and Procedures Coordinator
We're also looking for one more team member to join our Digital Communications Coordinator and/or Website Lead role and help with social media.
What's the time commitment?
Less than you might think. The minimum is 1.5 hours a month for our committee meeting, plus whatever time it takes to do the tasks of your role, which depends on what you can realistically commit to.
Our committee members have day jobs and kids of their own, so we completely understand that life is busy. We'll work with you to find a role and a rhythm that fits.

Share what you're good at. Whether your background is in finance, writing, design, organising events, policy or something else, there's a place for your skills.
Build new skills. You don't need to be an expert. If you'd like to grow your experience in governance, grant writing, event planning or digital communications, you'll be supported to learn as you go.
